The arrest of Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov in Paris continues to generate a global stir. While the Telegram team and various personalities from the from the tech world are mobilising to defend the well-known Russian entrepreneur, an unusual episode has occurred on the X platform (formerly Twitter). The hashtag #Telegram, used to discuss and comment on Durov’s arrest, was suddenly banned. This decision raised suspicions and questions about transparency and freedom of expression within social media.
