I've been using Debian 13, codename Trixie on three of my machines, but only as servers though. However, I just today installed a GUI environment, LXDE to be exact, since it is super light. Anyway, I'm impressed with the speed and stability. However, that is the Debian way in my experience.

@Carter Braxton Yeah I've started with Slackware 3.1 back in the 90s, I still have a couple of Slackware 15 machines. I then ran RedHat 5.x, then 6.x, up until RedHat Linux 9.0 (in 2002 or so) when they switched to RHEL. Dependencies management was pretty bad in RedHat: I remember being forced to install Gnome to get some headless stuff running (I don't remember exactly what). It was much better with Debian, I started with Debian 3.0 "Woody" and never really looked back. I've used Ubuntu for a while, but they got tangled in NIH then the Snap bullshit started and I switched my latest laptop to Pop_OS which is Ubuntu without the Snap nonsense.
