Scary Governor Newsom – California Globe
Newsom is using your personal income and sales tax dollars to fund his self-aggrandizement campaign. I served in the California State Senate for six years, from 2015 to 2020. While there I was given an office on the second floor not far from being able to observe what occured on the first floor of the former annex to the State Capitol.
The Lieutenant Governor’s office was on the first floor. But for the first four years in Sacramento, I never saw Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom in his office, in the shared underground garage, anywhere, unless it was for a combined Legislative session, like the Governor’s State of the State. Why do I mention this? Because his service in this elected position seemed superficial to me.
Since Newsom was elected to Governor, I’ve been receiving multiple emails from him per day on his activities. I’m sure they are part communication, part press release. And I’m sure anyone can be added to the email blasts if they request it.
In recent months, the Governor’s emails have taken a turn from chest thumping to attack pieces. And I’m starting to wonder if he is using government funds for a personal agenda. It’s as if he is weaponizing what should be public service announcements (PSAs) to beat up on someone he has created as his nemesis. It’s unbecoming. And it’s known as “a gift of public funds” to many of those who have served in elected office, his missives border on being frightening.
