I put some garlic in my gazpacho. I make a big batch of gazpacho every sunday, and we eat it all week :) Today it'll be 39°C, another good day to eat chilled gazpacho...
Squash flowers (zucchini in particular) are delicious to eat when they're still closed, particularly as fritters.

Excellent! I love the names of the other places too, as if the name Death Valley, wasn't enough of a clue. Upon reading the section, referring to carrion, yesterday while I was sunbathing in tempreatures of 38.3°C, which isn't even that bad I noticed two buzzards, seemingly circling overhead. I've oftentimes noticed at least one buzzard but this was a first seeing two of them. It must have been frustrating for them. They were sure that they had a sure thing.
