The era of the penny is nearing its end: Starting early next year, the Treasury Department announced that it will end the production of new pennies. We live in such a wasteful corrupt political atmosphere were the Roman senate like politicians spent the nation in multiple trillion dollar debt, that now, because of their reckless spending, the nation can't even afford to mint pennies.

« Pro Russes » contre « pro Ukrainiens » : le faux débat ? (Mondoscopie 102)
How did we reach a point where quoting Western sources gets you branded a foreign propagandist? Is the EU’s executive branch now completely out of its mind, punishing dissenters without trial under the guise of fighting “propaganda”?
The Rasht-Astara railway line enables uninterrupted freight transport from Russia to the Persian Gulf, avoiding Western-controlled maritime chokepoints, Mohammad Khatibi, a Tehran-based political analyst, tells Sputnik."Unlike maritime routes, land corridors through Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia cannot be interdicted by Western navies," the pundit says. What's more, "trade along this corridor can be settled in local currencies or through barter arrangements, reducing reliance on dollar-based banking networks," "This line completes the continuous rail connection from Russia to the Persian Gulf," the expert explains. "Without it, the INSTC remains fragmented and unable to realize its full strategic and economic potential."

I do share George's sentiment--I am a Western man, a European in civilizational sense. It is essentially my culture, because I am Russian and Russian culture intersects greatly with European culture, and I am not talking about arts only, I am talking about law and philosophy. However, it is over. The United States provided Europe with additional 80-years long lease on life after the WW II which was strictly European idea. This lease is up. I spoke about some ideas of removing Italy from EU, singling her out as the birthplace (together with Greece) of the Western mind.
Of course, as prices rose higher and health “insurance” moved further and further away from actual insurance, it’s made the American people even more dependent on the government for healthcare, which is how we’ve arrived at our current situation where extra, “temporary” subsidies rolled out during an official national emergency need to be made permanent to keep everything going. So, if you want to take the political establishment at their word, the best you can say is that Obamacare kicked the can down the road and made the healthcare affordability crisis worse in exchange for a bit of temporary relief for some uninsured Americans. But if you view the ACA within the context of the last century of American healthcare policy, it reversed the faltering demand for healthcare and health insurance, accelerated the racket moving as much money as possible into the industry, and quickly became a new political third rail that the “opposition” party refuses to even consider rolling back. It’s hard to view that as anything other than a meaningful success.
US airstrikes on suspected drug smugglers in the Caribbean ordered by President Donald Trump bear similarities to the controversial ‘signature strikes’ on purported terrorists under former President Barack Obama, the New York Times has argued. The Obama-era operations conducted primarily in Pakistan and Yemen relied on detecting patterns of behavior that US intelligence agencies claimed indicated terrorist activity, rather than identifying wrongdoing by specific individuals. Critics condemned the approach for its vague criteria – sometimes as broad as ‘military-age male’ in an area prone to militancy – and for resulting in civilian casualties.
